The Parish

The parish of Bramley, situated in the Borough of Waverley in the south-east corner of the UK, covers about 10 sq miles of some of the most beautiful countryside in Surrey, much of it in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Most of the 3,300 population live in Bramley village, which lies about 3 miles south of Guildford on the A281 main road from Guildford to Horsham.

The village itself is in a conservation area and is blessed with a multitude of heritage features and interesting buildings, displayed for visitors on a map in the centre of the village. Bramley High Street has a wide variety of shops, a bank, post office, library and numerous eating establishments including two pubs.

A Parish Council produced 100 page Guide to Bramley, covering its history and development up to the current day, is available from the Clerk’s Office at the address above, price £5.

Jane Bedford – Bramley Parish Councillor from 1994-2008
Bramley Parish Council would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of Mrs Jane Bedford following the news of her death.
Jane was a parish councillor for 14 years from 1994 and was a cherished and respected representative of people living in Bramley.
Jane took a keen interest in all matters of the parish including becoming a school governor of Bramley Infant School as well as representing the parish council on local police issues. For the last three years she was Chairman of the Planning Review Committee. In recent times Jane was very active in the ‘Save the Royal Surrey Campaign’.
She has been absent from parish council meetings in recent months because of her illness, but was missed greatly. Jane brought a kind, measured and common-sense contribution to parish council matters. She will be sadly missed by all.

Sunday 11th May 10.45 to 12.30 garden opening, plant and cake sale at Summerpool House opposite and in aid of Holy Trinity Church.  Any contributions by way of cakes and plants (potted or in seed boxes and preferably labelled) would be most welcome, particularly if delivered to Summerpool House during the previous two or three days.

Here are chalk and sand vying with each other in making beautiful scenes.

Here are woods and downs.  Here is something of everything…”
