ASDA Community Fund

Compensation Package

The various projects and organisations to benefit have been agreed with Asda in consultation with Bramley Parish council and community groups. Together we have tried to cover a broad range of projects and organisations across all ages and demographics, including funds for:

  • Christmas lights in the village;
  • Bramley Business Marketing
  • Bramley Library, including some landscaping around it;
  • Repairs including of Holy Trinity churchyard walls;
  • Refurbishment of Eastwood Road children’s playground;
  • A new Trim Trail at Gosden Common, including outdoor gym equipment;
  • Extension of the wildlife walkway along the Downs Link;
  • Local schools - Bramley Infant School and Gosden House;
  • The Four Villages Day Centre;
  • Bramley Bonfire;
  • Bramley Village Fete Association
  • Bramley Helping Hand; and
  • CCTV, lighting and other measures to improve the safety, security and usability of the old Bramley Station area.

The community fund is being offered without any conditions attached so accepting does not preclude anyone taking legal action against Asda or any other party in the future.

Both the Christmas lights and the Eastwood Road playground projects are already costed and have been confirmed by Bramley Parish council so these will be prioritised. Other projects may take longer to develop, so please bear with us.

Compensation Package Committee

Bramley Parish Council has established a dedicated Compensation Package committee to manage this fund and maximise the benefit for all of the residents of Bramley Parish. The chairperson will be the Vice Chairperson of Bramley Parish Council Dr. Bob Stern.

The members of the committee will be made up of representatives from Bramley Parish Council and members of village community organisations. A full list of members will be published shortly once confirmed, along with its Terms of Reference.

Public Consultation

As part of its work the committee would be interested to hear from Bramley residents if they have any suggestions for the use of the funds other than those already listed above.

If you believe you have a suitable suggestion please fill in the form below and your views will be considered.
